We'll be documenting the process as we go along and will probably have some audio samples soon so stay tuned!

Dates are coming together for this spring and we are very excited about the announcement of our return to "The GetDown Music Festival" (The GetDown Music Festival), and our first performance at Camp Barefoot (Camp Barefoot 4).

The next few months will bring quite a bit of change for the group with the release of our new album (CAN YOU SAY FREE DOWNLOAD!!) and a line-up change. Sign up for the Newlsetter to find out about exclusive downloads as the album is released, and stop by here to check out the pictures from the recording sessions! See you at the shows!

December, 2009

December was a busy month for the group starting off in Roanoke with James Pace, Soulgrass Rebellion in Boone, and last but certainly not least The Blind Tiger with The Mantras.

Most of January will be spent recording the new album at Dark Pines Studio in Graham, NC. This facility is truly amazing and we'll be taking plenty of pictures and videos to document the process. We've been lucky enough to be a part of finishing the construction of this awesome studio and we're truly lucky to have an opportunity to record there. Stop by the studio website (http://www.dmmobile.com) to check out pictures and the gear list.

Founding member and bassist Jeff Hindson has chosen to focus on school and will no longer be performing with Hot Politics. We wish Jeff (aka "The Spaniard," "The Darkness," and "Krondalezza Nice") the best on his way to becoming a teacher! Jeff will still be participating in Hot Politics "behind the scenes," but will no longer be performing with the group. We've been lucky enough to recruit Gray Hackleman to step in and we are really looking forward to having him jump in full-time beginning February.

February starts the year off right with a few NC shows (Feb. 5 - Raleigh, Feb. 6 - Charlotte) and winds up with us taking another trek down to Georgia (Feb. 18 - Athens, Feb. 19 - Augusta, and Feb. 20 - Savannah). If you've got people in these areas TELL THEM ABOUT THE FUNK! See you at the shows!

November, 2009

We had a great time on our first trip down Georgia playing in Athens and Augusta. Look for our return some time early in 2010!

The band heads to Richmond, VA this weekend (11/13/09) playing at The Camel with NOBS Brass then we're heading back up to Asheville for a stop at MoDaddy's (11/20/09) and Warren Wilson College (11/21/09). The band will be finishing up the month with a show at The Blind Tiger the day after Thanksgiving!

Stay tuned for more information on the recording of our first full-length album. We will be documenting the entire process on our blog so stop by!!
